My best Moon photo yet

Taken about an hour ago before the mossies carried me away.

Handheld afocal, 8" f6 dob, Meade 12.4mm eyepiece, Olympus 3.2Mp Mu camera.

Really happy to get the crater within a crater - Sacrobosco.

Cheers

Yeh Ken, no matter how much you look at the moon there is always something different to see.

Well done Rob. Does your camera have manual controls for exposure or shutter speed?

Mike,

I simply turn off the flash and shoot. Almost all of the photos suffer from movement as the shutter speed is too slow so I am saving my pocket money for one of those mounts that attach to your eyepiece. That combined with the remote shutter feature of these cameras should stop that problem.

Cheers

Rob

Astro Engineering make a nice little adaptor which I've used for afocal photography quite successfully, especially on the moon.

They're for sale at myAstroShop for about $80. See link at left.

Good value I reckon
