life in mars yet? first light with C9.25

Hi all, after three weeks of solid cloud and three glorious clear nights away and "Scopeless" the weather nymphs must have decided I'd served my new scope penances and last night finally saw the sky, did a quick tweak on collimation and grabbed a few avis of the waning mars in passable seeing

Quite impressed with the C9.25, collimation is easier though I haven't achieved critical collimation here the results were pleasing enough after so long a "drought" . This one is 900 of 1500 frames 1/30s at 10 fps processed in reg3 and astra image ME deconvolution (maybe pushed a bit far, but still learning this).

comments welcome,

Nice work Robert, I like it! Good colours!

The right edge looks a bit hard, it just disappears into solid black. I've seen this happen to many people's images due to processing, and it's brought about by the dreaded bright limb because of the waning gibbous phase.

You've got some great detail there, and the colour and phase is almost identical to an image I took on the 3rd November.

With better seeing i'm looking forward to your results!

Lovely stuff Robert! I'd be tempted to give her a bit more on the waveletts, but that's just me.

Yep, the dreaded collimation. Image is pretty good though, I was impressed with how good the collimation was on mine at delivery. Still waiting for the replacement though. I think your shot is much better than mine. Pity Mars is so low on the horizon. Keep up the good work.

Thanks Guys, I also took an image of Mars too using the Mewlon 180 at much the same time that I'll post when processed. It probably has a little less detail than the 9.25...

cheers,
