Eta Carina Nebula Mosaic in Ha - Colour added

Hi All,

Here's the mosaic done again, this time I got some RGB through light cloud cover last night using my ED80 and the Sbig setup.

There's still some dodgy areas, but it's getting there.

I have trouble with desaturated rings around stars from the HaRGB composite, anyone know how to fix them.

I'll post a larger version when I get some bandwidth back onto the website.

Cheers
Stuart

I like your image, lots of good detail and with nice colour. I cannot see any dark rings around stars but apparently I have them around my stars in my IC2944 image.

What size were your panels? Looks like a lot of panels to me.

Larger version now available on the website. Oops it appears that Photoshop hasn't done it's job properly and I have a doubled up area. Will try to fix and repost.

High-res looks great. Did you use the AO for the Ha?

I use the AO pretty much all the time now. It's bolted to the front of the camera.

Works very well at this FL. The details on the middle left of the pic on that arrow shape neb are very good. You can see the bubbly texture which is not often seen in pics at that image scale. Getting an AO very soon too once I've sorted out my field.

lovely image stuart,

how did you end up composing the mosaic, ive looked at Iris but apart from confuse the absolute bejeebus out of me i couldn't get it to do anything let alone know that its actually done something, and i don't have enough ram to make CCD stack do the job which i know it does very well.

Would love to know your method

Load all the individual images into Photoshop, File|Automate|Photomerge, hey presto a mosaic. Sometimes it stuffs up, but you can manually move the frames about if you don't get it to flatten the image after it's aligned.

I'd work on reducing the H-alpha dominating in the image, particularly star colours....there are many blue through to deep yellow stars around Eta..

Guiding and dynamic range handled really well. Nicely done.
