Curlew Caught Napping

I was waiting for Pam to finish work and this guy appeared in front of my car and I had my camera with me I was able to get fairly close. So snapped a few shots this was the best one.

Bird ok but the in focus background is very distracting. You can try and soften it by using low F numbers such as 1.8 if your lens can get that low. With the backgorund so close to the subject even this approach may fail.

Thanks I only had seconds to get the shot they are so nervous and quick I am just thrilled to get it as good as I did.

I had another go with I think some improvement. Done in Gimp layered with a Gausian Blur and cropped
