March morning, macro madness!

Hello,

Here are some macro and close up shots taken in Roma Street Gardens recently. The fly “poohing” is a first for me! I think the frog is an Eastern Sedge Frog?

All taken with Canon 40D and Canon 100mm F2.8 macro lens…and plenty of patience!

Thanks for looking!

Cheers

Dennis

Fantastic set there, Dennis. Good to see the bugs are still around. Must head out there soon. Hmm, long weekend coming up...

Thanks guys – your words of appreciation made the 5:30am start worthwhile, not to mention dodging the showery weather!

Oh, and a correction: the dragonfly & frog were taken with the 70-200 F4 L at 200mm.

Cheers

Dennis

Nice work Dennis but if you had swatted the fly's they would have stayed still longer for you

Hi Ron

Hmm, flattened fly photography eh?

This particular specimen was very cooperative; it was either tired or sick as I was able to manoeuvre around it to progressively get closer and better shots.

I wasn’t aware of it at the time, but after uploading the images I noticed the milky white sphere being excreted by the fly which on the next shot, appeared as a hemispherical blob on the leaf. I’m assuming it was the fly doing its number two’s!

Here is a full resolution crop of the eye.

Cheers

Dennis

Amazing shots Dennis, No 5 looks like it was taken under a microscope rather than a macro lens.
Breathtaking details.

Excellent work Dennis !!
Some amazing detail in those shots, you're an inspiration as usual mate.
It's been a long time since I've done any macro work, I'd love to give it another try soon after seeing your work.
