It needs some more data but I am pretty happy with this image. Bright objects are so much easier to work on and image.
This image is only 4.1 hours and there was some noise control needed. Additionally the seeing was not as good last night as it had been several nights before. Overall though I think it works. I might do some Ha on it to bring out the star forming regions.

Gee! Best I've seen here of this object. The core and dust lanes have some real depth to them and the details are amazing. Top shot and great process.

What a fantastic image! I assume this is at prime focus? The detail in the galaxy is simply amazing. What a great combo the GSO RC and QSI are proving to be (in the hands of the skilled ofcourse!)

Thanks guys I am honoured by your comments.
Marc I compared my image to Peter Ward's image and his is equally as nice if not better with his star size control.
Paul, this is at prime focus but with some cropping of about 20% and image size reduction to about half of the actual image size. I must admit I am enjoying the challenge of DSO imaging. My planetary imaging has suffered a bit of late because of this fact. I just cannot seem to image everything as I have to sleep at some point and I don't have enough mounts.

Personal taste. There's always a bigger fish or tighter stars but your process just makes this picture work.

Thanks for the excellent view of this galaxy Paul. I will be interested to see how it improves with the extra data.
All the best.
