I just don't know if I'd do this to my mirror. But if they say it's ok......

They can come to my place, my 10" dob mirror needs a good clean &
If horse soap and sponges are good enough for the gemini scope its good enough for me
But I will probably stick to a few drops of pure detergent & 100% cotton make up remover pads as I have used the last 2 times I have cleaned my mirror.

They use windex at Coonabarabran to get the bird droppings and crud of the corrector plate on 41" Schimidt Telescope.

Give it a rinse then a good soak in lukewarm water with a small squirt of dish detergent. It worked alright for Ken

frog doo doos sound hard to shift - I can tell you that spider web is not very nice either....

I cleaned the froggy bits off this afternoon.
After dusting the mirror, I spot cleaned with B&G window cleaner, then a final rinse with filtered tank water.
Being so very hot today, the mirror dried quickly, leaving no streaks.
Of course the clouds came over tonight so I'll have to wait to see how much difference it has made.

I use a mixture of IPA, Blue Windex and a very small amount of Kodak photoflo, diluted with distilled water as per Dr Clays recipe to clean the corrector plate on my LX. Presumably the mix would be good for mirrors as well.

Well, I couldn't wait for the Gemini south team to arrive
So I had to clean my mirror myself tonite
Centre spotted it while I was at it, I feel more confident about my collimation now.
Did a star test & it seemed OK, so I will wait for the clouds to clear & give Mars a go to see if it has made much difference
