how to order from Andrews communication.

How do I order from Andrews com? the web doesn't show the email address and only the phone number. and I don't like calling people I don't know over the phone... And you can check for mistakes when sending orders via email.
I want to buy Barlow lens, 1.25" achromatic 2x magnification (long type). also can it be a money order or bank deposit instead of credit card?

Thanks,
Tony

I just ordered some gear off them this afternoon over the phone.
They are very knowledgeable and helpful .
You can direct deposit payments, they'll let you know their details over the phone.

I think they removed the email address once the guys in the shop were too busy answering email equiries.

I still have Lee's address, and communicate every now and then when I have an enquiry. It can take a while to get a reply. You're better off calling. As others have said, Luke is very friendly and very knowledgeable.

I dont get the 'no email' thing. A lack of email contact in this day and age is why I generally dont buy from them..

Lee told me he was spending hours advising people and answering long winded questions for people who mostly took the info and bought elsewhere. In a two man show, there wouldn't be much else he could do I'd imagine.

Cheers

I cant say enough about the guys at Andrew's. Bought some things over the phone on Friday (after some really helpful advice) and it arrived first thing Monday morning.

This is the second time I have bought from them. Service is great and prices are great. Can't beat that!!!!

If you ever get to go to the shop personally, which I have done a few times, you'll see that they are always busy with helping people. They will always spend a good amount of time with each customer and as others have said, Lee was getting way too many emails to be able to reply in a timely fashion so he now focuses on shop-front and phone orders.

It's not hard to phone in an order or even fax one in if you're feeling anti-social, they action an order quickly and unless something is on backorder you'll get it in a few days.

Sucks for those outside NSW though I cant ring NSW numbers from work, so my only choice is weekends. Not saying its impossible, but it is damn annoying, and puts me off ordering from them.

To each his own.

Hi Tony,

I would get the APO 2.5x version, the achromatic one has a LOT of colour fringing... I have the APO version and its MUCH better to look and photograph through than even the ED version.

Just my opinion, but the APO 2.5x is only $49.

Cheers

Chris

Never saw the email thing as a real problem. Like Bintel I ring and they know who I am; we talk for a bit I get the info I need and if goods are in store I buy. I am sure they will do bank transfer if you want. Good operators like so many other Australian astro stores.

It is different how they operate but not wrong.

I should say, while it does turn me off, I have still bought from there in the past (via email) and have always been happy with the products/service....what is worse IMO is the sites that dont even list prices - why have an online presence at all?

I must add that I recently bought a pair of giants from Andrews.
Rang and spoke with Lee on Friday afternoon, paid by cc on the phone,
and on Monday afternoon I had the binoculars ! On the Sunshine Coast in QLD.
That's great service !
(I also built a parallelogram mount and put it on a surveyor's tripod which was $89 on ebay.)
