NGC3372 First serious QHY9 image.

The weather has been reasonably unco-operative for a while now, making it hard to do too much constructive imaging. Have also been busy with other commitments, too. I finally managed a decent test run on NGC3372 last night.

75mins Luminance in 10x450sec frames.
25mins each RGB in 5x300sec frames.
150mins all up.
Megrez 110.
EQ6 with EQMOD.
Guided,
MaxIm 5 and PS CS3

Still trying to get my head around Zone System and finding the sweet spot for the MPCC and the WO Flat II.
Thanks for looking and enjoy your weekend.
Gray.

Thanks! I'm sure you can get a fairly decent image with a DSLR.

Thanks Frank. I remember seeing the stacking figures say about 4000 stars. Dunno how true that is and I don't think I'll count them!!

Nice image Gray, heaps of good detail and a really pleasing image scale. Just one thing looks odd is the green halos around the blue stars. Maybe back off the green in the image and increase the blue a little.

Hi Paul! Thanks for your comments. I enjoyed taking this one alot! Ummm... I thought they were blue halos! I did back the green off a bit already, but I will check again and recheck my monitor calibration.

Thanks Mike. I did no real colour correction except for a bit of green reduction, that is basically what came out of the camera, so I'm quite pleased with the colour.
