Hey all,

My first image from the March camp.

SWED 120, ED80 guide scope with QHY5 and PHD on EQ6 Pro.

13 x Darks and 25 Flats and Bias Frames.

Aligned, Graded and Stacked in IP, Final processing and crop in CS3.

Comments / tips / suggestions appreciated.

Darren

Added another image, only cropped to centre frame and High pass filter mask as per H's suggestion. I'm actually very happy all round as I remebered how to do the filter mask from H's amazing instruction and this is the longest exposure I've done.

I'd like to take all the credit but I've had amazing help with everything from set-up, aligning, guiding and processing and am totally enjoying my journey into Astro Photography!

Darren,

As remarked at the camp, that is superb. Excellent guiding and well-processed.

Perhaps some high pass filtering for selectively sharpening the dust lanes may be in order to try and bring them out a touch?

Onya, mate.

Update

Added a High pass filter mask this morning as per H's suggestion.

The learning curve gets steeper and steeper!

Darren, nice effort. Star colours are ok but could do with a saturation mask to bring them out a little more.

Unfortunately the image is just slightly out of focus. You can do some selective sharpening to fix this issue a little. Are you using a Bahtinov mask for focus?

Once again nice effort.

Thanks guys,

Yes Paul I am using a bathinov mask.
But looking at the image I'm suspecting I need to re-check focus more often throughout the imaging sessions!

But overall, this is by far the longest and most subs I've done for a single image and although I lost a few subs due to guiding issues, I'm pretty chuffed with the result.
