Keypad buttons can be fixed on hand controls
Just wanted to pass on some info about repairing Meade or Celestron or any remote keypad that is not working on some buttons. I had a problem on my LX200 keypad Autostar 11. some of the buttons were hard to operate and needed to be pushed really hard to get them to work. The Carbon coatings on the pads wear out and can be easy fixed.. WES Components have a Rubber Keypad Repair Kit that costs $20. This Kit allows you to mix a two part solution together and re-coat the pads. I have just done this on my keypad and it works GREAT. Only 4 screws to get the hand control apart.. Very Very Easy job to do and saves the high cost of a replacement. If Meade will even supply one.. Anyone can do this its childs play.
