The Fox area - its all in the timing (or lack of)

Got on to post this image taken last night and saw Toms post - damn

Anyway its here

www.leyburnastronomy.net.au/mbfox.htm

It is really only RGB with a synthetic Lum over it. It should be ok with a nice sharp Lum which I hope to get next session. Will also post a higher resolution image on the page when its ready. I appreciate some dont like large downloads so I have kept it to about 700k for now.

Its also cropped due to misalignment after a power outage (generator ran out of fuel). Its my second RGB - give me a break

Details on the page.

The data is in there! that screen in the observatory needs replacin my friend... Looks good, and as you say, with a real lum layer giving it a punch in the guts it should be pretty special...

I think you need to weight your blue filter a little heavier when combining RGB frames.. This image seems to lack blues...

The scale provided by that setup of yours sure is something to behold!

Hi Mark,
Looks a treat to me.I'd be happy just to try and photograph something at the moment. From someone who is yet to dabble my opinion probably isn't worth much but to me it looks fine, pin point stars and tracking is great.

Cheers and Thanks for sharing.

Thx Duncan and Alex.

Yeah mate im still striving to understand this colour channel business - In std weightings it came out a brown you'd find in a babys - well you know. I pumped the red on one and tried dropping the blue and green on another - I forget which this is - to try for redder dust cloud. OSC used to be so easy in retrospect. Might try a complete recombination from scratch and see how it goes - I agree that reflection nebula should be a lot bluer (and maybe the background sky).

Anyway it beats the winter olympics for passing the night (and that froma skier ).

Mate... Even a horrible night at the scope, with lenses covered in dew, guiding not working and 10^15 mosquito bites is better than a night on the couch watching TV.. And, you got some usable data for your effort too..

Can't ask for more than that..

Nothing wrong with that image Mark. It maybe missing some blue tones but maybe not. After all, we never really know what these targets looks like!

Cheers,
Tom

gday Tom

Thx mate - I am going through a repro at the moment and hope to get more data (including a decent Lum) soon.

There sure is a lot of detail oin this area - hope to be able to do it justice. After your image I am a keen to try it with the TV np101is.

Thx guys

Mike as I said before - I now know why you are smiling in that image with the AP. This could become a lasting relationship for me.
