New cart

Hi all ,
Just thought I would post some pics of the new cart I just bought to put my dob on. It was on special at my local bunnings store for $25.
As you can see, the handle can be taken out, so I can wheel it where I want it and then pull the handle out to use the scope.
The dob seems quite stable just sitting on the cart, but I am considering drilling some holes through the metal tubes and putting 2 screws through into the base of my dob just to be sure.
The handle can also be put in the other way to make it a normal hand trolley.
I'll post some more pictures when I have put the dob on it.

Jodie

I'm sorry if I have stepped on anybodies toes with this thread. I just saw this when I happened to be in bunnings and thought it was too good to pass up.

The wheels are solid. I might look at getting some pnuematic wheels for it at some point. I only got it today so I haven't been able to test it under the stars yet, but it seems to be pretty stable. It's been dragged all over the house (my kids think I'm mad) and I've moved the telescope to every position to check stability and had no problem. I'll see how I go. I might think about bolting it on in the future.

Yay for me

Jodie

Mine came with the scope when I bought it from Dave

davidpretorius - May I ask how the scope is attached to that cart. You must be pretty sure that it is going to hold on that angle.

a m10 theaded rod from bunnings, like the treaded rod that comes with the scope.

i was surprised too that it stays up and doesn't come crashing down!
