Snowy Egret

In the spring the Snowy Egret can be quite animated while feeding and defending their fishing territory. I have better feeding/dance shots that I'll post another time, here's a few fishing captures.

Canon 1D Mark II / 500L / Skimmer II Ground Pod

Awesome!! #2 is a cracker. When I saw it in thumbnail before clicking, I was sitting here thinking "Come on, you better have frozen that splash perfectly, with no blur from motion" and you had.
Bravo mate, that shot is a real winner.
If the water drops were blurred you would have lost some marks in my book, but they are perfectly frozen..

Great stuff!!

Unbelievable capture. Frozen beautifully. The benchmark is raised yet again.

Thanks very much everyone for the kind comments. I had quite a few frozen splashes from this series but this one was the most interesting. Having the bird upright with the splash made it a standout for me.

Lovely shots - he certainly has yellow feet! Look forward to seeing some more. I shot some great and little egrets yesterday at a local wetland, I'll post them up here.
