Sunrise is the phenomenon where the clouds change from dark grey to light grey.

The is another phenomenon called sunset. That is when the clouds change from light grey to dark grey.

Some might contend there is another cloud state called black, but that doesn't happen anywhere within 500Km of a town or city.

There is a simple reality here. As a species we are becoming steadily more stupid. This sort of garbage is aimed at keeping the cattle amused while the last semblance of intelligence is drained from the gene pool.
Want to see the future? Watch a film called "Idiocracy" I did not know whether to laugh, or slash my wrists....

I remember a short story published years ago in 'OMNI' magazine.
The law had changed so that academics and engineers were effectively the servants of a monumentally stupid underclass. Uni degrees could be earned in fishing, car-waxing, cosmetics, women's studies, sociology, etc etc.
Anyone with a shred of academic or intellectual prowess was streamed into a special programme and brainwashed into thinking they owed the vast unwashed their expertise.
It was funny at the time. But now.....

Officially, I can't comment because I am in the "system". Unofficially

I wonder just how many 'true' academics are in parliament.
Just goes to show, you don't need to be intellectual to be a leader.
Intellectuals confuse the masses.

I was rewatching the remake of the classic 'The Day the Earth Stood Still', the one with Keanu Reaves in it.

And one line stood out throughout that film for me, above all others.
Bit over halfway through, 'Klaatu' mentions something about "...your leaders have shown their values..." and Dr Bensen replies "Those aren't our leaders... you want to speak to our leaders... I'll take you to one." and she takes him to Professor Barnhardt, a Noble Prize winning bio scientist.

I believe that same sentiment can be applied to 'today'.
