It's Baaaack!
Got a call from Fedex this morning, my Dragonfly Express camera is back and will be delivered this morning. That's a lot faster service than I expected - PGR only received it last Monday and they must have sent it off back to me on Wednesday or Thursday...Not bad considering they're in Vancouver and I'm in Canberra.
Now the question is...did they fix it, or decide that it was beyond all repair? I'm gonna be a nervous wreck until I get the package and find out.

Have you emailed them to find out if it was your problem or theirs?
Crossing my fingers for you, cause i'm anxious to see a side by side comparison between the LU and the DX.

I emailed them last Friday, sort of a polite enquiry to see if they'd had a chance to look at my camera, but no response. I was going to email them again today, but now I've only got about an hour until it gets delivered so I guess I'll just wait and see...
I figure that it's got to be one of two things, either they found a trivial fix, maybe just reloading the firmware or something, or it's totally dead and they've mailed it back to me in a little coffin...

Hmmm,
"A.C.T. FORECAST: For the rest of today and Wednesday
A partly cloudy day, with showers developing later in the afternoon and possible
thunderstorms. Light to moderate northeast winds, tending northwesterly this
afternoon, before a fresh easterly change in the evening. "
Thursday : Mostly fine before late showers.
Friday : Showers, possible thunderstorms
Saturday : Showers.
Trend for Sunday Monday and Tuesday :
Mostly fine, but isolated showers persisting in the east.

Great to see you've got the flagship camera back Bird - I've given up looking at weather forecasts as ignorance is bliss .
I've PM'd you a couple more questions re firewire camera usage.
cheers,

Don't listen to the forecasts bird, you'll get a break in the clouds I'm sure! Good luck & looking forward to your next images intensely!

Well, it looks like it might be clear for a while tonight, so I'll definitely try and do a side-by-side comparison between the DX and LU cameras, that's something I've wanted to do for a few months but couldnt because I had no Linux driver for the LU.

Go for it Bird!
By the way, you'd be pleased to know my EQ5 problem appears to have solved itself.
Don't ask. The greatest minds in the free world are still baffled by its sudden recovery.
It's not very often something just fixes itself in our line of hobby
Thank you God

Received a reply from PGR, it seems they replaced some of the chips on the camera board. That's remarkable since they only had the camera for about 2 days. Way to go PGR!
