You will learn it's because of the EP's somewhere on this forum there is a formula for figuring the time in relation to the amount or expense of the item purchased

As long as the clouds are over Melbourne, there are less to bother the rest of us. We'll take some off your hands, but only during daylight hours.

Couple of hours ago it was totally clear - and 40+deg.

Since then we've had a thunderstorm nearby (not here), sun shower, 60+Kph wind, it's now in the mid 20s - and 100% cloud cover.

I installed my new losmandy guidescope rings and dovetail, and losmandy counterweight system this afternoon. Guess what happened when I was screwing it all on....it rained. From 41 degrees C to raining in a matter of 30 minutes. It's 8.20pm now and it's looking like I've ruined the whole night.

We might have to call a truce with mother nature and agree not to buy any more gear until we've all had a good clear night or two in a row.

I have a guidescope arriving on Monday, so I'm guessing that we can all forget about Monday night as well.

Hmmmmm on second thought, it looks quite iffy out there...a fair bit of high cloud around and lots of low cloud on the southern horizon.

last time I saw low cloud to the south and lugged the big dob outside...guess what happened...yeah thats right!

The dob is staying inside....I'll keep the rich field refractor at the ready for later on just in case. Ahh the joys of grab n go
