Mars, 17th Nov

Hi guys.

Here's my image of Mars from last Thursday night, the same night I got my first Saturn. I only just got around to processing these.

The seeing was ok, not the best but I'm still fairly happy with the detail I got, including the first time I've captured the "tear drop" feature so something must be going right.

I captured for 5 minutes (3000 frames @ 10fps) and this image is a stack of 982 frames, processed in Registax and AstraImage.

Hellas and Syrtis Major are rising on the right hand side of this image.

Thanks

It is so strange, but it seems like the close encounter is long gone, but the photos (except birds) seem to be getting better

Well done Mike.
Your up there with the best mate.
That's easily your best I think from memory.

So much detail. and the colours are striking.

What's the tear drop feature you mention?
