Thanks guy's

RB, I used a Canon Powershot A85 held up to a 14mm XW through my 8" newt.

It's blistering hot here today and nice and clear, I'm really hoping it last through until
at least the moon rises this evening. Haven't had a decent night in awhile.

Nice shots, Rob. A85 doing a sterling job. Had a 'naked eye' look myself. (using solar filter glasses of course). What size? 5 ~ 10 Earths inside? L.

Rajah235,

Thanks mate! you know I built this camera adaptor for XW's to use to do sunspots
yet I seem to have better results just holding it. The lil Canon Powershots do alright
on this kinda stuff. I'm not sure what size it is. But the group as a whole would have
to be the biggest I have seen so far.

Actually I usually eyeball the Sun through the filter before I wack the filter
on the scope. 822 is easily seen without any magnification.

I have one of those baadar film, make it yourself models. Works a treat but
it's no PST : ( I usually eyeball it first just to make sure there are no
punctures in it.

Hi Rob,

This is my effort this morning with the trusty old pentax *istDS 2 times telconverter and 50-500 sigma lens, and a gap in the cloud
