Mars 29 Dec 2009
Some good seeing down at Clayton three nights ago and I captured this image.
It is my best Mars to date.

That is excellent Paul. Nice defined details especially the ice caps. Great colour as well.

Very nice job Paul,
Looks to be a most interesting feature within the NPC. There appears to be a definite East West orientated, thin dark line.
At first I thought it may have been a limb artifact, however it doesn't continue around the limb, it is confined to the NPC region so must be a real feature. What do you think?
Will be heading down your way to spend some time on the boat from Monday, that probably means your in for some crook weather over the next week or so.
Regards
Trevor

Paul, that just blows me away. This is one of the best I have seen.
What makes Mars different from the other planets is that you can actually see the soil and the features on the surface. What a tantalizing invitation to go there and colonize!

Thanks guys.
Trevor I took at the Map and all the features are there for sure. I am very happy with this image and the seeing was not that fantastic. I am hoping for more good weather this week down at the house. Call me I will be around.

As I said in the other forum Paul, an outstanding piece of work, and the cloud you captured over Elysium Mons, its peak at 48,000 feet, is just superb. Congratulations on a great image.

That's super nice! Can't wait until I can see the other face too. I'm already noticing some changes between 2007 and 2009. Thanks!

Thanks all, this goes to show that with good seeing (yeah I know Mike it was good but not fantastic ) one can get good images when the planet is at a low angle.
I have another image to upload from the other night. I will post it soon.
