Here I go again.
I am going to make a fine control setup for the alt & az for my dob. Similar setup to the flexible cable controls you find on EQ mounts. I find that to get a very fine movement at high mag (288x) is a bit jerky, especially the alt, maybe I'm just to fussy.
Not interested in motor drives.
Does anyone know if there is any setups similar to this any where?
Has any one done this already?
Any suggestions as to where to buy the components such as the flexible control cables, small gears or pinch wheels.
I have an old Tasco 4" Newt on an EQ which I might scavenge, but would prefer to keep it in functioning order as I want to pass it on to a very young nephew who is showing some interest. Will be a good starter scope for him.
