Orion Nebula and Running Man

Hi all,

this is only 3 x 4 minute exposures with Astro 40D and Astrograph f3.3 .

Sorry about the burn out, but have not got the skills to get rid of it. I was impressed with the outer nebulosity that was captured in such a short exposure.

I may have to stick to fainter nebula where burn out isn't a problem.

Comments welcome, and Merry Christmas to all.

That is very cool! It has the basis for being a much better image. Take some 30sec and 60sec series shots and try this technique here! I still havent perfected it, but it is really easy to get the basics down. Merry Christmas.

Nice pic.

Each to their own on how the core looks.

Either way. This is such a great picture you have there

As for my personal opinion, I am a fan for the slightly crispy core. Tastes better

Thanks for your comments Rob. I have been playing around with layer masking off and on now for a few days, and eventually got an image to put up. Although I couldn't follow the link right through with my Photoshop program Version 11, the end result is an improvement on the first in this thread.

This image is from 15 x 5 minutes and 21 x 10 seconds exposures.

Comments welcome.

Lester, I am no expert in PS by any means but it looks like your colour balance is a bit off ?
Hope you dont mind I spent 2min in PS with your first image
and only adjusted, colour balance , curves, hue/saturation
and got this result which I am sure you could improve on with
more advanced technique ?

Hi Marke, thanks for your reply and tweek; I am still learning how far to push my images, in different areas, so I appreciate others points of view and processing skills.

All the best.
