It’s been a long time coming, and I never thought that the day would ever get here, but while I was on holiday last month some people were very busy getting my first book out the door.
I returned last week, and to my surprise it had been finalized, loaded up onto Amazon and iUniverse book store, info sent off to Barnes and Noble and the Kindle/e-book is almost done. Wow!
For a laugh, I did some really rough calculation across the 17 or so drafts as well as the editing process, I reckon I might have typed over a million words in all.
The funny thing is-is that I don’t feel excited, I feel relieved more than anything else…like paying-off a big loan or something…what a bummer, I was looking forward to a little thrill at the very least! LOL
Congratulations Mark, Looks very interesting, and after reading a lot of your posts on Quantum Theory on the forums, I wouldnt mind having a read of your book... I think I'll have to get me one!
Humayun - Yeah, I'm still up for it...might have to wait-out till we get some more players. We'll see.
AlexN - If you are keen, I can direct you to the cheapest supplier. Will organise a signed copy if you do (just in case it goes somewhere. Strange things can happen).
Omaroo - Yeah, I agree. It'll be out there a few weeks before the launch so I'll get to hear a few things on the night. Yes, wait for the Kindle option...I have just bought one and I'm sold on the concept.
Steven - great to here that you're getting there...just be mindful that it's been through the mill 3-4 more times since then.
DavidU - Cheers mate.
Mike - Yeah, I originally planned it to be ready for mid year so that I had plenty of time for Christmas, but it just didn't happen that way. I placed so much emphasis on making sure I conformed to what 'according to the experts' makes a good book (zero syntax errors, no grammatical or transposed words, a read between 250-350 pages, no pulling punches etc. The content actually comes in about 20th place) that the time-line just blew-out wildly. In the end I just gave up and said when it's done-it's done.
AN INVITATION
For those who live in or around Perth, or are visiting in late January, feel free to PM me for an invite to the launch. It's in the QV1 building (CBD) on Fri 29th. Howard Park and Madfish wines are sponsoring the event, and Sayers (Upmarket cafe) are catering so the food and drink will be worth the effort. The gig is totally free!! So, if you're up to a nice night - unlike me who'll be sober and working - I hope that you make contact and come along. We're looking at between 200-300 people.

mmm, Im very tempted to buy a copy, sounds most interesting. My wifes into OM, Chi, and Consciousness, and I like physics, im keen to see how you combine them. 1st though, if I could ask, is there ANY math in it?

Nope, not a lick...except for the notes section waaaay down the back which contains a dozen or so pages of curvature and relativity pages. But that's not part of the bulk read.

I have no doubt that the mind can influence matter... Making your arm moves is essentially your brain sending an electrical signal to your muscles to make it happen through the nervous system.. This is easy to believe because A, you can do it, and B, your brain is connected to your nervous system and to your muscles... The matter between your brain, and a glass of water 5 feet away, is essentially made of similar electronic pathways, Should you figure out how to send your electrical thoughts across the matter between you and the glass of water, you should, theoretically be able to lift it with your mind...
Quantum physics does not rule out telekinesis, or telepathy... The mind is incredible, and considering the average human uses what? between 5% and 10% of their brain at any given time, it really makes me wonder what the brain would be capable of at even 30%, let alone 100%...
