This is so typical.

I've organised the water carrier to deliver a load of water to us on Wednesday.

Just read the weather forecast and they are expecting rain on Thursday, around 20 - 40mm is expected which corresponds to between 3000 and 6000 litres in the tank.

Obviously the gods that follow new scopes around also keep an eye on water tankers as well.

Still any extra water is a bonus and with a 90,000 litre tank it takes a while to fill.

Either ways, the water in the tank will help to make it more stable and not blow away!! (yeah I figured it was concrete with that capacity and won't blow away anyway)

It will be interesting to see what happens Kerrie, we get our reports from the Canberra airport which is around 30km away but around 150m below us as we are in the foothills of the Great Divide. we can end up with more than predicted or nothing at all.

Temperature wise we are always hotter in Summer then colder in Winter.

Water tanker water always tastes horrid, the rain will dilute it.

Not in one go Kev, That would equate to around 300ml of rain.
I think the farm would wash away.

Hi Jeanette, I agree taste wise. The carrier get their water from the Canberra supply and you can smell the chlorination in it. Fortunately it breaks down pretty quick.

Definitely Dennis, the last big downpour was only 17mm in an hour and that was enough to fill the dam to overflowing. We had a raging river going around the back of the dam where the runoff flows.

Not good for erosion control.

I know what you mean Ric, rain defiantly follows the water tanker!
I have been trying over the last week to get the footing ready for the house. Hired a Dingo today and last tuesday, and you can guess what happened, poured down both occasions! All the holes are full of water again. We have hardly had a drop in 2 months. But can`t complain things were looking rather dead till these storms.

On town I use about 2000 every 7 days .

Very true Gary, when we poured our slab for the house it had not rained for at least 6 months. Come the time for the pour and it rained on and of for a month.

Hi Nightstalker, I've just done a few rough calculations and I would estimate that between my wife and I we would use between 1000 to 1400 litres per week.
