Early morning feed time

We had about 195mm of rain over night (and we needed it) and while we were enjoying some fresh poached duck eggs on the verandah this little fellow and his mum meandered their way across the grass to this tree. They climbed it and feasted on the new growth that the rain must have made more appetizing for them. The mum wasnt as congenial for photos as junior.

A lovely shot – you’ve done very well to bring out the details in the shadows given that you were shooting against such a bright sky background!

Glad to hear you’ve had some nice rain too!

Cheers

Dennis

Thanks Peter, took about 50 photos to get a couple of good ones. The rain started again and they just sat huddled together sleeping thru it.

He or she is quite handsome Liz ... thats one of 2 young that the mums are trying to leave ... get them to fend for themselves ... but they are persistent however, and I guess that as this is the first time the young have experienced rain and the huge electrical storm last night ... well mum could see that junior was scared by the thunder and reverted to her parental protective role this morning.
