Yeah, lucky sod!!!!. Probably just bought a quick pick at a newsagents and never had a lotto card. I only won a div 7 (about $12.80), but that's better than nothing. I have won a div 3 before...$1500, which was great.

One day, I'll win it

Can't win if you're not in!!!

Just think, the poor beggar is going to have to open another bank a/c, because his/her present one won't be able to handle $40 big ones. Savings a/c's aren't designed to handle that sort of money

I would have thought a bank account is a bank account and it would handle any amount of money.

My account only pays 0.5% pa interest but that's ok, that would work out to be $200,000 a year to live on before tax.

Cheers

Apparently, they don't like having to handle large sums of money in savings a/c's. Probably has more to do with the fact they earn more money in interest annd bank charges holding the money in a specialised a/c, rather than having it in a normal a/c.

Should see how much money is in the EuroMillions lotto. Div 1 prize for the Xmas draw is around 900million Euro. Overseas players go into syndicates of 8 shares. When my brother bought his tickets in June, he was lucky to have enough money to purchase 3 shares of the 8.

If his syndicate is lucky enough to win Div 1, he'll get 337.5million Euro or $548.33 million in oz dollars

According to the lotto, any one player has a 1/33000 chance of winning Div 1. A syndicate in Spain at the same time last Xmas draw won 1.3billion Euro. It was split between 45 people of one town, all of them related.
