Dawn on the Murrumbidgee

A friend and I spontaneously decided after midnight last night, that we would beat the sun up and take a long hike along the banks of the Murrumbidgee river from Point Hut Crossing. The thistles were painful and I am very glad we had some light at least, as the wombat holes were frequent and neck-breakingly deep!

I took this shot lying face-down on a dry patch of rock in the middle of the stream, after some slippery and precarious rock-hopping to get out to it. i took a dozen pics from this position, but this one just grabbed me.

I hardly touched it with Photoshop, except to marginally tweak up the saturation just a fraction and to add my watermark. No crop.

Baz.

Agree - that's a wall-hanger! Beautiful shot! You find the best shots are taken in-camera and require hardly any processing. It's a wonderful feeling, you just know.

Thanks Liz and Mitchell.

Yes Troy, the trick now will to be to get that happening as the rule more often, rather than the lucky exception. I seem to be getting better and better as now I am not having to crop as much, and processing in post is getting less and less.

Baz.

That's super, Barry.

When are you going, again? Please let me know -- I'll be up for it. I had no idea we had beauty like that around here. I've got some ideas for a shot I'd like to try there.

Regards,
Humayun
