Paint time for the EQ - What colour?
As you may or may not remember, I painted my EQ mount after 2 weeks restoration work only to discover that my beautiful paint work started peeling off!!!
Mick Pinner talked about using an Etch on bare metal to prevent rust and I knew I needed a Primer to make the paint stick (but I rushed it and left the primer out!) so I went to a Car Paint shop and told them what I am doing.
They recommended an 'Etch/Primer all in one application. Sounds good to me!
So, all is stripped back to bare metal again and I am using their Etch/Primer in a spray can.
Now what I don't know is: What colour to paint the finish coat.
I did it white last time and it looked pretty good, but I have time to change my mind. Apart from all the ridiculous colours some will suggest (pink with green stripes etc) what colour would suit a large EQ mount?
Suggestions of a colour before I buy the paint are welcome.
(the reason I stuck this un-interesting waffle in the Equipment thread is in case someone else wants to paint their equipment and it's about my equipment.

i'm a big fan of Basic gloss black... looks great, so long as you don't want to touch it, use it, or anything like that, otherwise with fingerprints it'll look more like a dalmation in negative

Why not just get the whole mount chromed. Then you will never have to repaint it again, and it will definitely look schmikko.

I'm an idiot......pink!!!
I love the work Mick pinner is doing with his blue dew shields. Silver on the tube would be a great contrast. Black with silver.
Is the tube staying silver???

yes, hammer finish has a great "gun" cabinet look. you can get macho grey, it would look great
here is an application chart and a colour chart.
we do the galmet product, but dulux, wattyl, white knight are all available at M10.
the rust paint gives you the best wearing once done with a etch primer etc, have a look at the application chart

"British Racing Green" was always a favourite of mine !
The "Reef Blue" in hammer finish is a good one too.
