Starry Night V Autostar

G,day all,
Could anyone enlighten me as to whether I can use starry night v6 to drive a 10" lx200 ? I havent been all that impressed with Autostar and was wondering if anyone uses Starry night instead of and can give me a few pro's and cons for making the switch from Autostar to Starry night.
thanks in advance
Rob

It is not as bad as it looks and works well with the LX200 scopes.

Autostar planetarium does have a lot to go for it, unfortunately its not very intuitive or user friendly. SN leaves it hands down in that respect

As far as I know all the good comercial planetarium programs and free ones have an inbuilt driver for the LX200 and the Autostar. They would lose out greatly if they did not. The basic difference between the LX200 and Autostar driver is that the LX200 driver request (ACK) returns A, G, L or P. The autostar does not return "G" which could be a problem with the old Meade GEM mounts. Stellarium has an add on but the next version will be inbuilt.
