Dr Who, Sunday 7:30

Hi all,

Just a heads up that Dr Who is on the ABC this Sunday at 7:30.

It's a Christmas special entitled "The Waters of Mars" and from what I've seen of the promo it looks a beauty.

Dr Who fans will not be dissapointed.

Cheers

Ps: I reckon we need a TARDIS smilie for Dr Who threads.

I have a problem…

This programme or "the History of Scotland" at the same time on SBS!!

Probably tape the History and watch it later, and watch Dr.Who live on the little tele in the bedroom.

Q. Mars of Scotland? Which is the bleaker?

The History of Scotland is fantastic, and the last episode, episode 9 was shown in the UK on Tuesday, i watched it last night, and its great.

Doctor Who is excellent to, already have that on HD

About time ....

But there's also a great doco on SBS at the same time .... and I'd like to tape both ....

Guess I'll have get the old VCR out of the cupboard and unretire it so I can record both programs at once. (I think I've still a antenna splitter stashed somewhere).

You shouldn't have to split the signal. Daisy chain them. Rather than getting half the signal to each, the first one acts as an amplifier. Assuming you just use an RF connection to the TV, make sure the two VCRs put their RF signals out on different channels.

Dr Who is one of my favourite TV series ever - when I was 6 or 7 (mid 70,s) I remember running and hiding behind the couch as the 'cliff hanger' ending was on.

What is your favourite Dr Who episode?
me, Day of the Darlek, the giant plant?! (out of the pod)

Who is your favourite Doctor?

me, Tom Baker and David Tennant

Maybe time to invest in a Digital Set-top-box with PVR. I have 3 STB, 2 x HD 1 x SD can copy 5 programs at the same time. 2 of them a twin tuner, very handy especially with so many more channel becoming available.

One of my STB's has an external drive which I connect to a USB caddy so I record all my Astro program on a single hard drive and store it for later use.

I do think this is the best so far of his 2009 specials. It has Russell T Davies style all over it leading up to a special Xmas finale next. I wonder what the big twist will be (I can see the master is back in some form from the preview) It will be sad to see him (David Tennant) go but the tone set in this last episode has us just thinking it might be time for him to regenerate.
