Remote imaging

Hi All

If I want to do remote imaging from my house is this the sort of device that I need to make my old desktop computer in my observatory able to communicate with my laptop which already has wireless LAN capability ?

This is a pretty cheap device I found on eBay

Cheers for any advice in advance

Yes, that will do it.

Depending on what your Obs is nade of, you still may have trouble with signal strength.

The USB device you have there though has the antenna seperate, so you can go to Jaycar and get a cable to entend the antenna outside the Obs to give you better signal.

Thanks Trevor ... I thought it would do the job. I have a steel shed ... roll off split roof observatory but it wouldn't be a problem to rig up an extension as you say. The observatory is only about 10 metres from my house. I could also maybe use a USB extension cable I guess.
