Where to from here?

Opinions please team....

I have a Meade SN 8 inch. It has served me well. At f 4 it is nice and fast and my MPCC sorts out the coma issue.

But now I am being tempted. The 8 inch GSO RC looks mighty tempting - especially with the strong A$ at the moment.

So should I give in to temptation? I like the longer focal length and tighter FOV it offers over the SN. I mainly use my scope to image DSOs. I have a modded 350D (although all the talk on QHYs and new cheapie SBIGs are also alluring).

By the way - I'm only 7km from the Sydney CBD and its reasonably bright around here.

Any thoughts?

Pete

IMO stick with what you've got the F4 provides for a wider field and quicker capture with the 350d

If anything and you want to upgrade go for a 10" or instead buy a cooled colour CCD camera which will be my next major acquistion

Cheers

Thanks Trevor

yes, the cooled camera idea appeals - especially for the summer months. The 10 inch may be a bit exxie for me sadly
