Backyard Thor's helmet

Hi Everyone,

Just getting back into imaging again after a long break.
Here's one taken from my backyard while learning to do it all over again.
2hr40min exposure with DSLR and UHC-E filter on my aging EQ6...

I concur with others, this is indeed a pleasing result. Thor's Helmet is an illusive target that requires considerable exposure time or alternatively large aperture to compensate. It can also benefit from OIII data given its strong emission line. Top effort. Keep it going!

Yeh, another nice job Dave, you've picked up right where you left off - a solid image of a cool object

Lovely image, I can concur Jase's comments about this object. It is a tough target and you have done it nicely.

A fine effort, the wispy arms have come up very nicely indeed.

Definitely a target on my list as well.

Cheers
