Nice capture. You did well in processing to remove LP gradient (assuming this is what's lighting up the tree). Trees always look surreal in these types of pics. Good image.

Hi Stevenc77,

It is a great pict and it just goes to show what you can do with relatively simple equipment (looking at the fov I'd say it was with a camera lens?).

One question, have you pointed us to the right image - I'm seeing only the LMC? THe prominent bar is a dead give-away!

I was just thinking to myself, hang on.. thats the LMC... distinctive shape and the tarantula neb..

Its a very very nice shot in any case.

That is definatly the LMC. Regradless you have shot yourself a great image there. The tarantula shows up beautifully as well as S dor by the look.

That IS the LMC, Not the SMC!!!!!
