Yes Narayan. If all you want to do is to capture AVI then Stark Labs have Craterlet that will do the job nicely.

I believe there have been periods in the past where no freeware key was available, but the author has later renewed it. Might be worth watching for a while.

All the more reason to purchase though. I use the freeware V1 from time to time for polar alignment at remote sites with webcam. Have been caught out a couple of times with key having expired and me not having thought to check before trip.

I use Amcap, works well for me so far, just need less exposure so that I don't use too many filters. I believe it is causing poorer quality issues along with my non tracking DOB.

id retry WSastrocapture, i used AMcap for 7 years, though it worked flawlessly while imaging, it gave me a freaking headache loading the AVI into any version of regis- it took as long as 16 hours for one 500MB file instead of a few minutes

I have been using K3CDD Registered version for the past 10 years with the Atik. Has worked well. Recently tried to use it with the ToUCam 900nc but couldn't get the camera settings enabled - Any Ideas? Switched to Vlounge and then wxAstroCapture. Both work OK

The 900C has on occassions been a bit hiccuppy with K3, but I put it down to the driver. I found an updated driver somewhere on the net and its not been a problem since. The 840 always work.
