First attempt Jupiter

Not sure how this will look but have had my first attempt at Jupiter from last night. It is a very small image. I'm now on the lookout for other planets after making this start.

10" Dob on EQ Platform, DSI II captured in Nebulosity. 50 frames stacked in Registax5.

Not sure about focus. Any comments welcome

Thanks

Frank

Hi Frank,

I think your focus looks ok, the edge of Jupiter seems sharp and you have some banding detail. More magnification with a 2 or 3 x barlow would help and you really need a lot more data.

Not to familiar with your camera, if it is colour than try to capture about 2 1/2 minutes so that you end up with at least 1000 frames. Registax will than be your friend. If you stack the best 4 or 5 hundred frames you will likely be amazed at the detail you will get.

Regards
Trevor
