Angry

Hi Liz,

Hmm, I am green with envy.

One place I would really like to visit is Italy. Also France, Spain and Portugal. Not to forget Germany. Wines are really classic there. Real port. Real champagne etc.

I must get there soon myself. I have to visit Estonia as well. That's where my parents came from in 1949.

Have a great trip. I will be on your heels in a year or so.

Cheers Marty

Liz. Have a wonderful trip!
Six weeks is a good break and will give you time to savour Europe.

Regards, Rob

Thank you Marty, Rob and Simon
I LOVE my wines, and really love champagne .. so cant wait to try a few ... probably a few too many.
There are 5 of us females, and we will be downing the champers in real Aussie style .... perhaps we will try and sip it this time
Marty .. wow, Estonia ... that will be exciting. There are so many places to go, it was hard to narrow it down a bit.
Lets hope that Euro stays over the 60 c mark!!

We've been to Austria twice and all those others except Switzerland once. It's so different to be inside buildings two thousand years old. SWMBO celebrated two x0 birthdays in Europe - one in Spain, the other in France. I've managed one ordinary birthday in Italy and one in the USA (but that was special since it was a my aunt and uncle's place and we hadn't seen them for 10 years).

One warning though. Pickpockets are a nightmare in eastern Europe. The less you look like a rich tourist the better.

Take care and enjoy the experience.

Andrew

Yes, take lots of photo's, I always get tired of spending so much time behind the camera...(in reality it's bugger all time, just seems like it) but then years later when reviewing trip photo's, always wish I'd taken more.

You're going to have a really great time - I've been to all of those places except Austria, and I can tell you that you've chosen well! Make sure you check out the markets in Florence, as well as the statue of 'David' by Michaelangelo.

And if you have one of those little GPS devices (eg Globalsat DG-100) or your camera has one built in you can geotag all the photos so you don't forget where you took them.

Ahh, there wont be a problem with not taking enough photos
Last trip I had I took a few thousand, so easy these days, then you can weed out some ... maybe.
I have a great Panasonic Lumix FZ18 with an 18x optical zoom, love it.
One of those GPS thingys would be great, but havent got one.
Thanks all

I'm pea green with envy Liz.
Have the best time. Are you taking a mini tripod with you? I've love to see your take on the Northern Skies.
Only one bit of advice for you.
When you finish packing your bags, remove half of what you're taking. That will leave room for all the wonderful clothes that you buy over there.
Have a beaut time, think of us occasionally cause we'll be thinking of you.
Take care.

Haaa .... have just been through my case again, and know I have waaaay too much! Am great in giving advice to others, about taking out half off what is in the case, but cant bring myself to do it
Ta jjj and Kev and Astro78, will have a ball, and yep, I have my mini tripod.
Wanna take one of The Coleseum at night, as our apartment is in that area.
I think that its Humyan who has a great night pic of it, though think it was one of those ... HDR(?) jobs, which I havent done yet.
