Mars from Melbourne

Hi

Things were looking good for once, the scope was collimated, the weather was good, even the Jetsteam was cooperating. Up and out of bed by 1.00am, set the laptop up attached the camera and the way we go. First Avi file was good but was slightly out of focus. I decide to try something new, focus the scope, capture a 500 frame Avi file the process it with Registax and check the resulting image for quality of focus, then repeat. Things were going well until, Murphy Law. First the correction plate dewed up, so out with the dew zapper, by time the correction plate was free of dew the fog/cloud had rolled in, it the word of Toyota “Bugger”.
In the end I end up with only 500 frames to play around with, the results was good but a few 1000’s more frames would have been better.

Anthony

Lumenera LU075Colour, 10” f10 Meade LX200 Classic, 5x Barlow. 500 frames with StreamPix @15fps, Stacked and processed with Registax 3 & additional processing with Photoshop

Thats excellent, I like people who can actually get this type of thing done well, its a great skill. I seems as though there are a select few experts around here in this department. Keep up the good work, I appreciate it

Good onya Anthony,

Still a great shot but as you say would have loved a few 1000's more to stack.
Hope you get another chance soon.

Cheers

Nice image, detail is excellent; but it is a little on the dark side. Congratulations on a fine image.
