Why don't they get rid of them except for the three of the largest ones and call them the three stooges
Been there, not impressed

Its an awesome part of Australia and one of the most scenic parts of Victoria.

Perhaps new ones will form at some point.

Greg.

Thats a real shame. The Otways is where I grew up just 15km inland from the apostles at a little place called Simpson. All of the local farming families used to meet near the apostles for sunday picnics and all of us kids would run amuck!

FYI, there never was "12" Apostles. Thats just a tourism name from the late 70's. Back in the 1800's the crews of the sailing ships knew the stacks as the "Pig and Sows", then when tourism began on that section of coast they thought "The Apostles" sounded better. Finally in the late 70's someone added the 12 to the name and thats what we have had ever since.

Bet you didnt expect a history lesson out of a piece of rock falling down did you!!
