Scopes at the local DSE

Anyone been to their local **** Smith recently, I dropped in last Saturday and was surprsied to see 2 Celestron refractors on display - priced mid $400.00 from memory

Is the same **** Smith that advertised a reflector as a refractor in multiple stores (and didn't change it for months)?

That's a new one. 80mm Celestron refractor $499 online (at www.dse.com.au) with Goto. Lot of money for very little aperture. Basically most of the purchase price is for the Goto not the scope.

a small goto mount is pretty expensive isnt it? could you piggyback a camera on it or attach a webcam?

or shove a ed80 or similar RFT in the mount for astropics...

Not really ving. Its still a fork mount, so any shots are going to be fairly short exposures anyway to prevent field rotations. A webcam would work, though I don't know what the quality of the optics is like.
