When I am reloading window XP from the ASUS XP CD they supply, it starts to load then it comes up with CD read error, have tried different USB CD drives but get the same result, I think the CD is faulty

If your CD is faulty then you will have to contact ASUS to get another one. For my Eee PC 1000H I made a USB flash boot disk. Works really well and faster then the CD. The boot disk can be made up on any PC with a CD-ROM. Here's the link to the site with the instructions http://myeeeguides.wordpress.com/200...b-flash-drive/
