Its is just amazing how nature looks after it's self, and plant life continues, the loss of human life is obviously more tragic, very clean and nearly brand new pictures, thanks for sharing.

I've always been fascinated by the copious regrowth on gumtrees after a fire goes through. It almost looks as though it is forest submerged in water covered with an algal bloom. A shame that animal and human loss cannot be regenerated as well.

Thanks for sharing your pics Rob.

I took the WD and kids for a drive through the King Lake area, very strange scenery indeed. There was desolation for a whole hours drive.

Interesting photos Rob, many thanks.

I am hoping to visit Marysville before the year is out. I don't want to intrude on the recovery efforts. But I will also be very sad to see properties I loved, gone. But I would like to see the surrounds opened up in a way I've never seen before.

I always feel irritated when I hear - "The fire destroyed XX hectare". As we have seen for decades, much of the flora recovers over a season or two.

Yes, I do accept that there are circumstances when some flora do not regenerate. And of course fauna, property and human lives - sadly.....

OK, I'll accept "The fire burnt through XX hectare, destroying buildings, fences, killing sheep..."
