Nice photo - these are lovely birds!

I built a couple of platforms for two large water dishes that we fill daily, often 2 or 3 times and we get small flocks of Rainbow Lorikeets and the occasional pair of Scaly-breasted Lorikeets that stop by throughout the day for drinks and baths.

The local Butcher Birds must have been watching their frolicking in the water dishes and they have now learned the behaviour and visit us daily for their morning and afternoon splash around.

Cheers

Dennis

They're beautiful birds and quite friendly, trusting and intelligent. Great fun to watch. I spent Ten minutes on Sunday watching a pair in our bird bath - boy were they going for it! When I was in Sydney, I had a pair that used to visit me on a very regular basis, and I could hand feed the male. I think animals know when you're not going to hurt them.

Thanks Dennis.
We feed ours on a platform too and have a birdbath.
Just lately and after all the dust they seem to be using it more often.
Cheers.

Thanks Dave.
We hand feed together with the Lorikeets, Kookaburras, Maggies, King parrots and Butcher birds.
The bird bath certainly attracts all sorts of birdlife.
Cheers

Thanks RB.
Quite happy with the shot mate. Not being a specialist photo magician though, like yourself.
Hope to catch up at Lostock and maybe partake on the old stogie.
Cheers
