Thumbs up Lightbridge tranport

I found this picture by John Bozman on Facebook.

He secures the secondary mirror box with a bracket using the fixing points used by the struts. Very good idea. I have to figure out how to make the brackets. Anybody out there with idea how to make these?

That's an elegant solution, Jakob. Kudos to John!

I would probably make them by hand from 3mm aluminium plate. Cut them out and drill them, then used either a hole saw or round file to make the large holes for the lower OTA. Aluminium is just that bit easier to work by hand.

I think the final bends to shape could be done in a vice (i.e. bend to fit).

JMI do a kit that includes these "nose tabs" but also a rack to fit the trusses:

Hey, I didnt know that Meade had released a Coonabarabran model of Light Bridges.



The JMI stuff is cool they even do a tracking motor for the LB"s, whilst not good enough for photography sure would beat having to manually push the thing around.
