Starry Night Enthusiast

Here's something peculiar.

I have the 'Enthusiast' version of Starry Night. I seldom use it these days apart to check on the occasional constellation or star position.

One thing I have noticed, which seems to me to be a massive oversight even at 'Enthusiast' level, is the complete absence of the Messier objects!!!

I've searched all the toolbars and settings and can't find them anywhere Am I missing something? Can they be 'activated' to show their position on the screen?

Can't say I've noticed, Mark. I got my free "Enthusiast" version with a magazine a couple of years ago, but since I found Stellarium, I haven't use SN. I'll install it and see...

Matt, I installed the "Enthusiast" version, and although I cannot find a "list" of Messier objects, I find them by typing in the search function in the "Find" tab.

And I downloaded and installed Stellarium 0.10.2

Looks like we're doing the opposite thing to each other.

The prob with SN Enth is that you can't tick a box somewhere to have the M objects show permanently.

Stellarium's great for freeware.

Yeah, I dropped SN in favour of Stellarium, and I have just got used to is. You tend to become accustomed to something and stick with it, I guess.

You are right, I cannot see anywhere to "tick a box" to force on all Messier objects.
I find the GUI and overall look is much more pleasing to my eye, but each to his/her own.
