Lunar Eclipse video

Hi All,

I too was out last night.

See http://members.optusnet.com.au/~rat156

Sorry for the crappy html, I was in a hurry.

Details:
Nikon D100 in time lapse mode, one shot every 30s @ prime focus.
Combination of 230ish frames.
Meade LX200GPS with f6.3 focal reducer.
Registered and video generated in Registax to avi.
Size reduced and converted to quicktime in IMovie on MacG4.

Share and enjoy
Stuart

Stuart, it won't open for me.

I followed all the prompts about letting it through the pop-up blocker and allowing the apple program to get in etc. but it still won't open

Try it now, revamped the links to avi and quicktime movie.

BTW warning 2.3Mb and 1.3Mb (removed the colour info) files respectively.

Cheers

Thats very cool.... I thought I saw it as good as it would get.... could only get glimpses at 9.40pm and 10.20pm..... so missed the maximal time - it really increased in that time!.....
Great movie!

Way Cool Stuart. How big would the avi be if you didn't us compressed images?

Thanks for all the positive feedback.

Yes, it's a great example of field rotation as well...

Uncompressed file sizes 126Mb as full colour avi, 43Mb as 256 greyscale...

Cheers
Stuart
