And now, the bad news - one size does not fit all.
Good viewing of the planets and the Moon (magnified) require higher magnification - say 15mm eyepieces and shorter focal length - and maybe with a 2x barlow thrown in occasionally. These will usually be with 1.25" barrels. Some may have a 2" skirt as well - eg. Televue Ethos 13mm
The larger nebula do lend themselves to 20mm eyepieces and longer focal length. Probably up to 35mm in your LB. Most of these are going to be in 2" barrels, particularly those with apparent fields of view of 68 deg and above.
Except, of course, if you mean Planetary Nebula - then you are back into the short focal length, high magnification region again.
Basically, don't worry about the barrel size (1.25" or 2"), it's the focal length and apparent field of view that are the main issues, followed by eye relief and exit pupil size - all considered in conjunction with quality of glass, eg. transmission, contrast issues, and, over the lot, maybe price.
Lots of threads to read on this site about eyepiece choice - search them out, read, and then ask questions about specific eyepieces is my suggestion.
