Eric,

That track is now 50 years new.
When I was very young my father worked at night (he was a Jeweller-watchmaker) in a room next to my bedroom and he would listen to shortwave radio, Note for the very young, there was no 24 hour local radio service back then, Radio Luxemburg played a lot of Miles Davis. My kids listen to it now and I am sure that there kids will too.

Thanks, you have prompted some very early memories.

Regards,

Greg.

That is from the best selling jazz album of all time and one of my favorites! I think Miles was a genius and that band was so so so good. I found a few pieces from 'Sketches of Spain' (probably my favorite Miles) on YouTube but none of a live performance.

Thanks for the post!

I've been working my way through the John Coltrane and Stan Getz clips. Love that smooth and soulful sax!

Eric,

Julian 'Cannonball' Adderlley played Alto sax on the studio Version filling nicely with Coltrane, another sax player to look for is Tom Scott, he features on a lot of Michael Franks tracks and I think that he may have done some stuff with Steely Dan as well, Clarence Clemens tends to overplay with Springsteen but can be forgiven when you realise that a lot of those beautiful sax overlays on the Joan Armatrading tracks are his, I have a list but I will stop now.

Regards.

Greg.
