Jupiter 21-8-2009

Hi All,

Nice clear night last night, but a bit windy for DS stuff. Been meaning to get some nice Jupiter shots so I got some avi's taken.

Anyway, the seeing wasn't that great (it really never is here) but I'm happy with this one. I'm stil processing, so there may be other hidden beauties in this lot.

Taken at f/24 Meade RCX400 10", Toucam for the colour, DMK for the luminance, recombined in PS.

Cheers
Stuart

Added another re (perhaps over) processed image from the same avi's.

Higher resolution for monochrome CCDs, and I'm too lazy to get a filterwheel and do the proper RGB thing, so two cameras and a flip mirror for me.

Cheers

Very cool. Sharp as! Seen a couple of cool DSO shots from you too. You seem to be a very good all rounder.

Thanks all,

Paul, I stumble across your image processing guide. I used it to make the second image. I think I may have overdone it a bit, but it shows more detail.

Cheers
