Unhappy Bushnell Telescope NorthStar Goto 788846

I cant see a thing through this! I am new to the skies and instruments, am i doing something wrong? Don't even know if I have set it up correctly, although I followed all the instructions in the manual.....

set it up in the day time *DO NOT LOOK AT THE SUN* see if you can focus on something thats over 100 meters away. lowest power aka the bigger the number 20mm 30mm on the eye piece the lower the magnification if you cant do this then theres a fair few more questions to ask. do that and then come back

Hi Zlash and to the site. One of the best ways to find out how to use your scope may be to go along to a local astronomy society viewing night.

But to get you started, when you look through it what size eyepiece are you using? The larger the number on the barrel of the eyepiece the lower the magnification. I would suggest starting with the largest number and seeing if you can focus on a distant tree or a hill. If you can focus on that then we're on our way. If you can't focus then we need to look at other options.

Absolute gold! i think its from a long lost miss spent youth i learnt to touch type and now i recently got clocked at close to 80wpm :S (great for typing out uni assingments).
